Frosted Memories II

This is the second quilt I've made from the Frosted Memories range of brushed cottons. I've gone a bit mad on brushed cottons at the moment, they are so tactile and soft and make such cuddly quilts, plus they're very easy to work with. This one also has the Quilters Dream Wool wadding and it's been quilted with King Tut thread in Reed. I used my favourite technique of drawing the design on Golden Threads quilting paper and then free machining the swirls and stars pattern. I decided to piece the random stars to break up the squares a bit, without them the top was looking a bit monochrome. I did the design in EQ6, which let me look at various permutations before committing to fabric.

  1. That is so lovely, didn't you do it as one of Sue's Quilt-a-long days?

  2. This is just as lovely finished as I thought it would be when you showed it as a work-in-progress a couple of months ago. It looks lovely and snuggly and just the thing for watching TV under on a chilly winter day.

  3. Yes, it was a Quilt-Along project, I'm so glad Sue ran those, it really got me going and lots of people got handmade gifts this year. I was very pleased with this one, I may have to make one for myself :o).

  4. Lovely. Subtle. Yeah, I know, I don't do subtle, but I do appreciate it when I see it!
