I've started quilting the huge Tennessee Waltz quilt top I finished last year. It's going to take a while, but I've done the first 3 blocks - I'm not even thinking of counting how many there are to do just yet! I'm not completely convinced about the swirls on the star block, I'm going to do the white blocks first and see how I feel about it then. The back's going to look stunning :o).
That's gorgeous. After QuiltSue finished her TW quilt she kindly "lent" me the tempates for the spiky bit (saying "it's a long-term loan, don't worry about giving them back). Bless her because it will be eons before I've got mine made.
ReplyDeleteRe: quilting. Lesson learnt the hard way with my longarm - if you don't like some quilting when you've done a little of it you are probably not going to like it any better when you done more, you'll just have way more unpicking to do ...
whoops - I mean "when you do more", not done more!
ReplyDeletesounds like good advice Bilbo, I'll bear it in mind!
ReplyDeleteIt is VERY good advice, but I do wonder what secondary pattern you might get if you do a few more blocks, sometimes, when you see it as an overall pattern it works better than when you look at individual blocks.
